NewGrange
Sweater
Previously hand dyed fleece, using seven different
plants in six differently mordanted states, was carded and spun
so as to produce both plain colours and variegated sequences
The whole sweater was made in-the-round in
one piece … too complicated to describe how here, though –
ha!
The design was inspired by the carvings on
the stones at the neolithic burial mound at New Grange, outside
Dublin

Delphos
Top
Four strands of fine, hand dyed silk –
mostly variegated – were used together; one strand only was
changed every row. (NB The rows of the fabric as made and worn run
from top to bottom, not from side to side) |
