'Seascape'

'Seascape'

Inspiration for this hanging came from a photograph of Prawle Point, South Devon. The photograph was originally used for a very small piece of needle lace embroidery. Looking again I could see, by using much heavier yarns, I could re-interpret the subject into a much larger piece.

The sky is Tunisian Knit stitch with added needlework stitches to blend the colours and prevent a striped effect.

The rocks are freeform crochet. bouclé yarn represents waves and rivulets, and a few glitzy beads add light on the water.
