'Beachcomber'

'Beachcomber'

Inspiration – a local shingle beach ten minutes from home.

The main structure is a metal ring mounted as for embroidery with lacing and board.

The sky is in a handspun synthetic fibre worked in Tunisian Simple stitch.

Sea, foam and beach are made of a collection of knop yarns in blue, white and creams to browns, all worked in double and treble [US single and double] crochet and crab stitch, lacy with added findings and embroidered stitches in cups and domes.

Strands trailing from the base include found objects, seaweed, glove, leather, broken necklaces, etc.
